Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you  finally  made  the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq  to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean  more quality to the paintings, am i right?. 
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only  to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Getting Settled... Commissions Anyone

These past few months have been hectic. Basically I was homeless, lost my job, and haven't painted anything in about a month and a half. I have been drawing almost every day but could only get in front of a computer at the local library or a friends house. I have finally gotten settled in and I'm shaking off the photoshop cobwebs.So I got a few spaces open for commissions. Yeah I need this.

Single character head to toe or bust
$10 sketches the first one is pretty tight don't expect them all to be like that

Single character simple bg
$20 Colors(applies to me on colors)  Colors plus lines $30

You can note me if you want stuff other than this and we can work something out.

Also to those of you who had commissions waiting I'm getting them done and sorry for the long wait. 2010 is nuts so far.

dude, I am so sorry. I want to buy a commission from you to help you out, but I need some info first. Do you do just digital or do you send a hardcopy. If it is on paper, what size do you draw it on and what type of supplies do you use?

Thanks for the concern my Hanzozuken. What I use depends on the process. It depends on wether or not you want digital or pencil. In either case you let me know what type of character or illustration you need to get done and then I usually give a couple of thumbnails for you to choose from. I do a rough sketch and clean it up using a light table. Next step depends on the choice of digital or pencil. If it's digital I usually ink it with a Micron 05 scan it and move on to colors.
If it's pencils I would then start laying heavy into rendering using a 4h an F lead and an hb. In this case you would get the original probablly on a nice piece of Strathmore Bristol 11x14 and the price wouldn't reflect the sketch price listed. If you have any more question let me know I'd be happy to answer.
